Great, I purchased FreewayPro on 19-Dec-07 and only three weeks later they release version 5, allowing only customers who purchased AFTER 1-Jan-08 a free upgrade. It's business practices like these that put software companies like Softpress on my blacklist. Surely somebody at the company must have known about this and could have issued some form of statement 2-3 months in advance. That's called best practice and customer service.

What company would cause sales to be suspended by saying a new version is coming in 3 months? Thats mad! Yup, fair enough to expect perhaps a 3 month free upgrade window. Freeway is a program I love to hate. It does get better but is this worth the money? Probably not until version 5.1Thursday, January 17 2008 @ 12:00 AM PST

I agree with what you said in your reply. No company will suspend sales for 2 or 3 months. But what most companies do is: when a new version of their software comes out, they will usually allow a free upgrade to registered users who have purchased sometime up to 3 months prior the new release.I wrote an Email to Softpress 3 days ago about this matter and received no answer to this day. Before I purchased FWpro 4.4.2 in December during the trial period I was getting all kind of answers in less than 24 hours.

Stop the hysteria please! - NickCollingridge
Version 5 has NOT been released yet - it is totally clear everywhere I have seen this referred to that Softpress have made a pre-release of the next version available to people, but this is in no way the same as the release of a new version. So quit the whining about no free upgrades - the version you have is still the current shipping version. Wait until the new version is actually released before you moan about what Softpress do or don't do, as it is only then that you will know for sure (unless they choose to announce a policy sooner). Please try and get a proper perspective before you start posting such hysterical assertions against a company!Thursday, February 07 2008 @ 12:00 AM PST

I agree as I'm in the same boat. I haven't even had time to use it yet and now "have" to buy an upgrade........Reply to This
