Pitch shift and time compression both produce horrible artifacts and are useless. Unnecessary stuff clutters up each window, making editing many files at once difficult. Lots of minor but annoying interface silliness, like automatic (and non-disable-able) reordering of tiled windows every time you save a file, making it impossible to keep track of where your files are on the screen. Developer very, very unresponsive to any feature requests.
Batch processor is incredibly clumsy to use, you have to put the whole program into "batch" mode and then anything you open thereafter runs the process until you go into batch settings and take it out of batch mode. Just stupid.
I used to dislike the dongle but the new net authorization scheme is even worse. I believe for the money I've paid I should be able to move this program between machines as often as I like, as long as it's not running on more than one machine. Well, it now tells me that I've authorized/deauthorized too many times and it won't let me do any more.
I am seriously looking for an alternative, apart from a G4, OS9, and Alchemy, the best sample editor ever.

Could be good if they would listen - Jason Davies--2008
Greetings,Thank you for your comments. In fact, Peak 6 includes over 100 new features and improvements – the majority of which came directly from customer feedback. With respect to document management, tiling behavior has been improved. Regarding change duration, there is a new mode option for voice, music, or percussive material and we have had many positive responses as a result. Regarding the authorization system, BIAS allows two systems to be simultaneously authorized and up two three de-authorizations and reauthorizations by default. If you need additional de-authorizations and reauthorizations, you may contact BIAS support and request this.
