Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Less than a month

Recommend Product: YES

Rember uses memtest at its core. However, Rember isn't able to test any memory that is being eaten by the OS, so, if you want to really test your RAM, you should:

1) install Rember

2) Boot into single-user mode:

hold command-S on boot, then:

/sbin/fsck -fy

/sbin/mount -uw /

3) Once you have the hard drive mounted, run the memtest executable buried in Rember. If you installed Rember to /Applcation/Utilities the path would be:

/Applications/Utilities/Rember.app/Contents/Resources/memtest

For memtest switches look here:

Dude- it's $1.39!!! It's a damn useful utility, and I for one am more than happy to spend less than I spend on a cup of coffee to support the developer!

Applejack = another FREE Memtest method - zunipus

Another way to get Memtest for free is to Custom Install the freeware program Applejack:

Applejack is terrific. It runs while in Single User Mode and is very simple. Before you install Applejack be sure to read about performing the custom installation of Memtest. After installation be sure you understand how to access Memtest from inside Applejack. Highly recommended.
