The developer seems to have abandoned this software...this program hasn't been updated since 2005 and doesn't seem to respond to support emails. While it works wonderfully with my PowerPC G5 in Mac OS X 10.4, I can't say the same for its performance on my Intel iMac as it is not a universal application. There I get frequent hangs, long waits and beachballs when opening the menu, and generally poor performance. Which is a pity, because it is still probably one of the better email notifiers out there, especially as it doesn't require Mail to be open. Too bad Google Notifier only works for GMail as it would be a worthy successor to this app. Regrettably I cannot recommend Mail Watch to anyone with Mac OS X 10.5 or an Intel-based Mac.
