I have been looking for a product like this since the 1980s. It always seemed that there was this paradox that did not allow for the creation and use of high-quality passwords and usernames. If you picked long and complex enough words to be secure then they were impossible to remember especially with the growing number of "membership required" sites. At a "big name" telecommunications company that I did development work for there were so many independent systems that it required that I keep a list of close to 50 machine ids with usernames and passwords. I would save this list in an encrypted file and decrypt and cut and paste as needed trying to be sure that I recorded password changes as every system had a lifetime associated with their password so that I was constantly having to come up with new password and maintaining the encrypted file. Ugh! What a nightmare. On top of that most every application also had its own username - password combination. So much time wasted! Most people eventually gave up and kept a pages of paper with this list taped to the monitor because it was such a pain to decrypt and remember to delete your clear copy after use. Then came applications that would automate the procedure but they did not integrate with the browsers so you had to be careful not to "save" an accidentally corrupted list. Well this application solves all of those problems and more! I love it. now my names are secure, I never have to worry if the list is up to date or have the fear of corrupting my good copy of the list, and I don't even have to sweat coming up with unique passwords. Even my financial info is treated in the same way. No more keep in lists of credit cards, etc. I have been using one of those "data safe" applications but the author never has improved the product in even the simplest ways, That is not the case with 1Password. updates are constantly coming along not only fixing bugs but adding features. I have found the developers to be open to suggestions and very quick to respond. The application is so intuitive that it very rarely requires me to consult documentation. Setup with the first install was so simple that I was saved the pain of entering any existing info contained in the browsers that I have used on and off over the last couple of years as it extracted from each of them any login info contained in all of them, Sorry that I've rambled on but these folks deserve praise for such a well written, maintained, and useful application coupled with excellent support and responsiveness. I definitely recommend this app highly.
