Thank you for the kind words.I got these tips from a forum. I think everyone has these problems. I had them on my sister's Intel Core2Duo so it seems Computer spec is irrelevant.
"Sounds like you are using flip4mac as that is the only way you can play .wmv files in QT. If that is the case, then the simple answer is that flip4mac uses more power to decode what is going on than a standard QT file."
"If you want to play WMV files then use either VLC or Windows Media Player for Mac. I would uninstall Flip4Mac from your system entirely and go to www.microsoft.com/mac and download Windows Media Player."
"You could also register Flip4Mac and you will get improved performance."
