I've used QuickNews on my Palm TX for a long time to download feeds with both the Mac conduit and direct with WiFi. For Palm OS, the program is generally stable and works well with other applications (e.g., passing feeds' article links to email programs or a browser like Xiino (but not Opera).) It shows, as an option, embedded images, and lets you choose which feeds to download depending on your connection (conduit or direct).

My only gripe, and a piddling one it is, is that QN cannot display Japanese feeds, even though I have J-OS installed. However, I don't hold that against the developer at all.
