It's not exactly obvious how to view fonts not installed on the computer with Font Pilot. You have to go to the File menu and select Preview Font Files... (Command-O); this gets you a file open dialog in which you can navigate to the folders or files you want to preview. If you choose to view more than one font, the display window has Next and Previous buttons in the lower corners. Once I figured all this out it was easy to click through a folder of fonts. While I use Linotype's Font Explorer to manage my fonts, it cannot preview fonts not on the system or already installed in its library. So Font Pilot fills a niche for me. Though I won't be using it to manage my font collection, it can do so. FP has the ability to create font collections and activate and deactivate fonts.

Since you can view uninstalled fonts with Linotypes font tool or Font Agent Pro, and even suitcase, I a, not sure what the point to this program is.Saturday, July 19 2008 @ 07:40 PM PDT

So, were you able to add fonts to collections? It seems like it would be as simple as dragging, but I can't get it to do anything....and there is zero support.Reply to This
