I've only used the latest version, but I think it's quite good. 7zx is a slow compression method, but creates extremely small files--the speed isn't related to the program, per se. Additionally, this program has useful mac options, like preserving resource forks and removing invisible mac files. It would be nice to not have to drag it onto the icon--I'm not sure why this is necessary, but a small gripe. Thumbs up.
