If only Symantec WERE the missing link. I could not get the download button either (you are taken to an order summary page after paying, and asked to click on a Download Now button, which is conspicuous by its absence).
Anyway, I did a live chat with their technical support, and here is the lame reply:
"Well, I have checked your order and found that it is in process that 's the reason you are not able to get the download button. So, please wait for 24-48 hours ."
Sounds like the only thing that is "in process" is Symantec trying half-heartedly to fix their Web site. It does not bode well for the actual software if they can't even sell it properly.
<sigh>

Update: After sending an email to Symantec Customer Support, I received a response which was more nonsense about the order being submitted but not processed, hence no download button (um, hello! What about a purchase screen that says "your order is in process and we will send you an email when it is ready for download" instead of a screen asking you to click on a download button that doesn't exist).Anyway, they claim to have issued me a refund. Which is strange, because their Live Chat support person said I hadn't been charged yet and that's why my order was 'in process'.
This whole episode is up their right alongside the best Monty Python moments for surreal absurdity.

Update - ClamXav - bwickens
Downloaded and installed the latest version (the one with the GUI). Works like a charm. Found an obscure virus lurking in an old Entourage email and was intelligent enough to NOT quarantine my whole Entourage database.BTW, I received two follow up replies from Symantec, one asking if my problem was solved (No), the other a customer satisfaction survey. I responded to both with some choice words and I vowed NEVER to buy another Symantec product again... to which I got a customer service reply saying thank you! All the signs of a product with it's head so far up it's butt that it's back where it started! I think they should just give parting gifts to the two or three Mac developers there who are cowering in a cubicle and just surrender themselves to Vista land...

The Missing Link. - Stempnakowski
Yeah, I spoke to some guy in India and had to wait until he checked the link himself. He came and said, "right there is no download link."<silence>
"I have to upchannel. You will receive an email in 24 to 48 hours."
<silence>
"Anything else I can help you with?"
I'm thinking, you've got to be kidding. I don't even feel I've been helped yet with the first issue. So I'll wait the 24 to 48 hours and then request a refund because I doubt they will get this fixed.
As someone pointed out, not being able to properly code a web site doesn't give me a warm fuzzy that they could code something as complex as AV software with any degree of competence.
