Most people probably don't know that the legendary (at least in 90s Mac world) Maelstrom was ported to OS X a few years back (after being a favorite and one of the first successful shareware games ever for the Mac--from Ambrosia, which is still around). That game at least took the graphics to a new level (though the graphics have actually been done better than that game, it is still wonderful in its simplicity). I'm not sure how it works in 10.5, but it still "rocked" (and it literally rocks with its soundtrack) in 10.4.
However, it's biggest drawback is its small window, which this game at least does much better with. Remember, it came during the Mac Classic era. However, if you're an astroids fan, check this game out, but also check out the Maelstrom X, for some nostalgia if nothing else.

Give 1.1 a try - Jim from Mind Diversions
Please give Quantum 1.1 a try and let me know what you think. It's a pretty significant leap from 1.0.2.I love Maelstrom too. One of my goals was to make a better game and solve one of my frustrations with Maelstrom: the tiny (by today's standards) window. It's still a classic though.
