As cool as this program is, I still managed to get it to crash within the first few minutes of having it open. I tried to zoom in on our sun to see the scale of our solar system. Eventually, the background goes black, and the program stops responding. I thought it would be really cool to see the scale and orientation of our solar system with respect to the rest of the galaxy.

In the sky view, I expected north to be up and south to be down, but it appears to be relative to our galaxy, which just felt counter-intuitive.

I also thought it would be cool to be able to see where the limit to visible space is.

Crashed Easily - Bill Tschumy

This is the author.

You are right that zooming in taht far does cause the application to become non-responsive. I've never even tried zooming that far since no detail is available at that scale. In the next release I will put a limit on how far in you may zoom.

Thanks for reporting this.
