Quite good but to be improved

Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Less than a month

I needed an alternative to Photoshop. GraphicConverter does a few things but it is not too strong on the image editing size. Pixelmator can be a decent solution. There are points where it truly needs improvement:
1) when scaling an image, the image cannot be moved
2) precise cropping (setting a width and height)
3) interface - sorry but with smokey windows, buttons are almost invisible
4) the software quits on me after some hours of simple tasks and no way to do anything
5) colour palette - more Adobe-ish please
6) swap btw. foreground and background colour
7) show position (x, y, w, h)

re your item #6 (swap fore & background colors): if you right/control-click on the two colors in the tools palette you'll get a contextual menu where you can select "swap colors".

I agree that Pixelmator is quite good - I suspect v1.2 (just released) will improve things somewhat. But it does have a few rough edges still...

I should have said v1.0.2 ;-)

The developer is really working hard on this, too. It's 12/18/07 and we're up to version 1.1.1. I use Pixelmator a lot and have given Photoshop Elements v4 the boot!
