1) Speed.

2) Features.

People, please read the already posted comments at minimum, and USE THE SOFTWARE (for this or any package) before posting your reactions. The existence of free alternatives should not be a reason for posting critical comments of this or any item of software you have not yet tried. If you are happy with the alternative packages, it would be pleasant and would increase your karma to go to the pages of those products and post positive comments there, rather than knock software you haven't tried.

Yes, other products have grown quite feature-full in the time since Textures has been developing its OS X - native version. As a regular user of all of these products for many years, I have been awaiting the return of Textures as an OS X - native app. I have my license from years before, and if the new one works out to be as good as the Classic version was, I will be happy to pay for the upgrade to get my favorite TeX production tool back.

Thank you for your attention.

I here your comments. The problem is that I simply cannot try textures without a serial number. As they are not allowing people to try before they buy, I think the critiques are well founded to help customers know whether or not they want to pay without testing.

New VS Classic Textures - RonWW

Does anything else have the equivalent of the Stoplight in Classic Textures? How does new Intel Textures, now at Beta 8, stack up with Classic textures?

New VS Classic Textures - Kilohoku

As I said in the comment on the other post, this continues to get better and now has many features (including ability to include other formats of graphics, well-integrated editor suited for large-scale production tasks, font control, etc.) that make it well-suited for use by anyone who does a lot of TeX-based production. I no longer use my Classic version, only the new one -- and this will be quite important when Snow Leopard comes out!
