the first time I got v.47, and after a re-install, i got v.115

Installed fine the first time, replacing the earlier version.

exactly, even after two installs, all i got was v47, never did get 115.

Did you use the Uninstaller first?
It is vital to do this I believe, also run disk utility or fsck and repair permissions.

If you installed some other Adobe product in-between, some other Adobe installer probably put a lower version back on your Mac... I had this happen.
