This program. ver. 8.6 made my home folder disappear right after installing it. I had to go into my guest profile.. looked in the users folder and my profile folder was empty. I downloaded the program again and used its uninstaller and my home folder reappear ..... scared me bad.
Before uninstalling I did try a few things from the new profile I had just created.. I couldn't even repair permissions..

Forgot to mention, I wondered about your mention of the fact that you couldn't see contents of a user folder when logged in as another user. Isn't that how it's supposed to work? Security...? When logged in a "guest profile" I would not expect to see the contents of ANY other users!! That's a... FEATURE, not a BUG!!!! But as to whether or not you had problems with your main account after the install, I leave that to you of course.......Friday, December 14 2007 @ 10:09 PM PST

Wow, your home directory disappeared upon install and re-appear after uninstall? Bizarre! I see your identical comment over on macupdate.com too. I have to wonder whether this is a system-specific failure (e.g., interaction w/some other issues) rather than something that the SW might do to others, but I guess it comes down to... YMMV... Sorry you had a bad experience. My IT folks provide this for Macs, and I have not heard any issues w/it, FWIW.Reply to This
