Why is it called football?
%99.999 of the game is played without the ball actually touching feet. Surely handball is a more accurate name. Now football I can understand being called football and even Rugby-football involves kicking the ball regularly but this game...

I totally agree. It's called 'football' in the USA because waaaaay back players from Rugby in England, where they play Rugby football, came to the US to play the game against Harvard, Princeton etc.. They liked the game so well that they started playing it. They eventually changed the name and the game to allow forward passing. Hence - American Football.Reply to This
