after much testing, the Restart problem only happens after starting with the D_C_ folder in StartupItems; removing the D_C_ folder (and the PrefPane) & restarting solve the problem; the upside is that the trackpad corner & scroll settings seem to stay in RAM & function; the downside is that forward-delete and enter=opt do >not< work any more...
