This pertains to Saft 9.0.1, not 10.0.1.
Here's how the developer handles paying customers: once you upgrade from the Tiger version of Saft to the Leopard version, he refuses to allow you access to continue downloading the Tiger version of the software. So if there's a bug fix for Tiger, or if as in my case, I actually needed that version in the first place but was tricked into buying the Leopard version because of his completely confusing upgrade policy, Hao Li's response to his customers is: tough luck. Have you ever heard of a developer of a little shareware utility being such a hard case about licensing? It's ridiculous!
Below is his dispute resolution response to PayPal when I asked him to either refund my $6 upgrade or revert my license to Tiger so I could download the version I needed. Keep in mind that this software is just a little shareware utility, small in file size. He could have easily emailed me a copy of the correct version and resolved the whole dispute in a friendly way and kept a customer, but instead he chose to lose a customer and keep my money. Also, he lied in his dispute response. The Safari for 10.4 update was available before I upgraded to Leopard. I upgraded to Leopard because I thought it was required to obtain Saft for Safari 3.0.4 with Mac OS 10.4.11. I have never been able to download a copy of the software I was actually trying to buy. He's a liar. AVOID THIS DEVELOPER AND AVOID THIS PRODUCT!
Hao Li:
The buyer bought Saft for Leopard (MacOS 10.5) upgraded and download it. But after a while when an new Safari was updated in Tiger (MacOS 10.4), he wanted to download that version too. The problem is that after upgrading to Leopard version of Saft, he does not have download account for Saft for Tiger (they are two different products with different source code base). As policy I can only provide manual ditribution of Saft via email if user has correct account and has problem with download. Again, the buyer does not have the right to the product he asked for.

Hao Li's rip off policy - MacGuffin
Hao Li doesn't sound like the kind of developer with whom I want to be associated. He won't get my business for Tiger OR Leopard. Thanks for the heads-up.Reply to This
