Strange behavior

Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Over One Year

Recommend Product: YES

After installing Amadeus Pro 1.2 and launching, it was unable (apparently) to open any files...I attempted opening several files in multiple ways (drag onto the application icon, from the Open menu, from recently used files, etc...) —nothing. So, I trashed the application and re-installed 1.1 and all was well. This time I attempted to upgrade to 1.2 from within the 1.1 application...download and install went fine...and as 1.2, it worked fine (by the way, previously, after all my attempts it had temporarily locked up my computer (iMac 2GHz Intel)) So, after the “successful” upgrade, I rebooted to clear anything that may have gotten messed up. Upon relaunch, Amadeus once again, quit working...it would not open files, etc. Anyone else having similar symptoms?

Could you contact me directly at <Martin@HairerSoft.com> so we can try to find out what's wrong? Also, have you tried trashing the preferences file?

I too am having problems and have reverted back to 1.1.1. I notified the developer through the developer's forum, but he says that he can't duplicate the problem. You may want to go to the hairersoft forum at http://www.hairersoft.com/forum/ and report your problem. So far he thinks I'm the only one. My post is under user ID chrlswtt

Thanks. I sent Martin an email right after he requested I do so here. I’m waiting for his reply. At least I’m not the only one in the universe having this very strange symptom.

Mystery solved...

The version of Amadeus Pro 1.2 that was put on the web on the 16th of November contained a copy of the program mpg123 (the utility used to open Mp3 files) compiled for MacOS 10.5. Unfortunately, it turned out that this copy does not run under MacOS 10.4. I now reverted mpg123 to the copy that was used in previous versions of Amadeus Pro. This should fix the problems that some of you encountered. The fixed version 1.2 can be downloaded from

<http://www.hairersoft.com/AmadeusPro/AmadeusProDownload.html>

For those of you running MacOS 10.5, no action is needed. For those still on MacOS 10.4 and who updated to 1.2 before the 17th of November 14:00GMT, I recommend that you download Amadeus Pro again from the above link. I am of course awfully sorry for the inconvenience...

Same here (MacOS X.4.11 - iMac C2D 2.33GHz). I re-installed 1.1.1 and now is working fine again.
