I was a very happy transmission user until my last upgrade. But now I can't get it to work at all! This is despite extensive trawling of the Transmission forums and tweaking all possible settings mentioned there... So, I can't really recommend it anymore. This is not to say that I think it is a shoddy product, only that I hope it works for you!
