I don't know what's going on with this update but Safari 3 looks absolutely horrible. The drop downs and buttons on some webpages no longer look like Aqua. They're plain boxes that remind me very much of Firefox. This is not an improvement. Ugh.

This is deliberate. It is so that Safari conforms properly to web standard, displaying the web page as the web designer intended. I suppose it would be nice if they offered the option of over-riding the page and using aqua controls instead.Friday, November 16 2007 @ 01:41 AM PST

The way widgets are rendered by the browser have absolutely nothing to do with the HTML being used. HTML calls for a drop-down and the OS/browser provides it. This is a screwup on Apple's part.Friday, November 16 2007 @ 09:18 AM PST

i have to agree. the tabs aren't even tabs. there's no markings to distinguish between them. i just have a long metallic looking bar of words and icons. saft and pithhelmet are both gone. i hardly call this "progress" has apple been copying off of vista now?!?!Reply to This
