After installing this update, Safari is completely useless. I can't type in the URL bar or into the google search. Coincidentally, my frustration with Safari had been growing in recent weeks, so I'll consider it a blessing in disguise, decision made, dump Safari.

Safari unusable - Herwig Henseler

remove all the crap you installed as safari plugins in /Library/Internet Plug-Ins. Then Safari will work again.
