Since I applied the 11.3.9 update Word quits unexpectedly and for no reason. This has happened 6 out of the 11 times I have used Word since the update. Do not apply this update!

After update Word quits unexpectedly! - mserrano1

Same thing happened to me on Leopard. Was working with a table in Word and it "Unexpectedly Quit". I tried to relaunch several times to no avail, when finally Word told me that it could not launch because it could not open it's libraries (or some such message). After that it crashed hard and took the system down with it. After a restart, Word launched fine. Haven't used it much since then as I am now trying out Pages...
