Used Product For: Less than a month

Recommend Product: NO

Leopard's Archive Utility can extract compressed files 25% faster than StuffIt. I almost couldn't believe it, but I tested it out with several files and I was blown away. Next thing I knew, I was dragging StuffIt to my Trash.

Unless... - Glasgow

Leopard - I just downloaded a stuffed file, double-clicked it... And it opened in TextEdit. Right clicking on the file, and I find that TextEdit is the only recognised option. I'd be happy ti use something built-in, but right now I'm downloading Stuffit Expander for the odd occasion I do require it.

Yes. I think that Leopard's (and, I think, also Tiger's) Archive Utility can only open and expand .zip files. So if you get like a .sit, .sitx, or a .rar file, you still need Stuffit Expander.
