Product Platform:

Used Product For: Less than a month

I regret that I updated 5 of our machines to leopard and it reminds me when I installed 10.0 at the time hoping I get a working OS and saw me reverting back to OS9.

Leopard might be ok for a new mac buyer who uses Safari and mail but for a power user it a big step backward.

As mentioned I installed on 5 machines 3 via update from 10.4 and two a clean fresh installs.

Every single one of the machines has it’s own set of problems which have not been there under 10.4.

The problems range from:

Safari constantly times out
New Imac not going to sleep or engaging screen saver
Finder freezes becomes unresponsive
Computer needs to be force quit to be restarted
Freeway not uploading via FTP (works perfectly fine under 10.4)
Adium does not connect
Finder window closes itself when ejecting memory stick trough side bar
Contextual Menu Items like stuff it now in subfolders of subfolders
Dock folders like downloads have a screwed up item
Frequent restarts required
Very slow even on a Quad Intel
Inconsistent finder behaviour

The overall feeling is so bad that I actually reverted back to OS 10.4.10

so many problems remindes me on 10.0 roll out - Dester Wallaboo

We've installed 10.5 on over two dozen machines without a single hiccup so far.... both PPC as well as Intel. We also only did the Upgrade install versus the Archve and Install. We made sure that 3rd party daemon's and the like were pulled off, we repaired permissions, and then ran repair disk off of the 10.5 install disk to ensure the boot drives were healthy.
