Republic of Ireland not covered. It may be a great Tide Predictor for the rest of you guys but I put to sea from Ireland and we do not exist for Mr. Tides. Have a word with the British Admiralty. They are still giving out tidal information for Ireland for free on the internet.
Republic of Ireland not covered. - augusth
Ireland is not covered because the British government asserted copyrights on all Admiralty-created harmonics, even though those harmonics had been published in a copyright-free document from the French government. As a result a lot of stations were removed from the database, including Ireland. The tides are available on line from the UK Hydrology office, but ONLY for one week at a time. No looking in the past, no looking in the future, and if you don't have internet access, you have no tides. I personally think this is putting people's lives at risk, but the UKHO believes otherwise.
They won't even license the harmonics to us freeware authors; only if you want to pay can you get rights to use their data. They have the right to do this, and we have to accept this. Not that I'm happy about it...
