Developer's Ethics

Feedback Type:  Review

Contributed by: christopherparsons_dotmac Saturday, November 03 2007 @ 11:03 PM PDT

Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Over One Year

I had to purchase a second license in January after an update broke my registration because it no longer worked with email addresses that were authorized with capital letters. I did not have a receipt number and developer claimed he had no record of my purchase. In the time since, the application has been virtually nonfunctional- returning only SPAM. When I went to have registration updated for version 2.0, I am again told there is no record of my registration. I entered same email address that registration was purchased for and have the original email receipt. I would not recommend anyone purchase any of his software. The developer has shown no responsibility in supporting either his software or his customers.

Developer's Ethics - christopherparsons_dotmac

Version Tracker's composite rating is misleading. I gave the product 4 stars for ease of use and one star for every other aspect of the program (I didn't have the option of awarding it less than one star or I would have). In no way do I believe this application merits two stars (overall, I would give it less than one star). I would not recommend to anyone that they invest any money in this application. Don't make the same mistake I did. If you read the comment history on this application, you'll see I am not the only person who feels this way.

Developer's Ethics - Michael_Miller_800

Thanks for the tip. I was considering purchasing this, but definitely not if my license isn't going to work forever.

Developer's Ethics - frodo5641

can only agree worst developer ethics I have encountered in 17 years of Mac, I lost my serial due to a HD crash, emailed developer to resend serial he said he could not do without PayPal id so I forwarded PayPal id to him and send 3 follow up email but no response and no serial.

DO NOT GIVE THIS GUY MONEY

Developer's Ethics - fluster

Dave Watanabe (forgive me if i spelled it wrong) has always been very helpful to me--i don't even have to have a hard drive crash to lose my license number. Dave probably had to hire someone to help him with the e-mails--you think? Because he would help you out if you did buy it and you were talking to him. I think he's not the one answering the e-mails anymore because his business sure is taking off.

I bought this program years ago when it was still free, then i paid for it when it became not free. Lost my license 87 times, and he always helped me out and sent me the info i needed.

by the way, it's spotlight that causes me not to be able to find anything, but i digress.

so listen, you guys complaining, he must be on vacation or something, DAVE! DAVE! you wrote a great program (and inquisitor rocks, too), but these people aren't finding you. can you re-train your e-mail answerer?

this developer has always been extremely helpful to me, so try again, everybody.
