I've been beta testing this product as it's development matured over the past month. For a "rev 1" it is in very good shape and very usable. It works with all cameras currently being shipped by Vision Research, with the exception of the V5.1 (which does not use a Bayer CFA, so requires considerable additional coding on de-bayering algorithms).
As a Mac user, it is really great to see a product that allows me to directly view .cine files on a Mac and in QuickTime. And, the ability to drag cine files onto the FCP timeline is a huge time saver, avoiding the need to convert the cine files to TIFFs, for example.
The image manipulation pipeline and tools are exactly what Phantom customers have been asking for.
The Spotlight integration is an extra bonus, giving me access to almost all of the cine file metadata through "get info" and allowing me to search for a specific cine file easily.
Given Bob's history with his other QuickTime plugin products, I'm sure this one will continue to evolve and improve as he gets user feedback.
