Reader 8.1 looked really impressive for the first thirty minutes or so I spent checking it out. Things quickly went south and I had no choice but to dump it even faster than I had downloaded it via 56k. I'm pretty sure my entire disk got pretty funky and I also had to eventually do a reinstall to get things right again if my memory is correct. By the way, Schuberts PDF Browser Plugin (http://www.schubert-it.com/pluginpdf) is an excellent alternative for anyone wishing to browse PDF's online. For everything else, Reader 7.0.5 has actually worked just fine on my G4 macMini running 10.4.10, and all the previous iterations leading up to it. I'm going to try the update to 7.0.9 just for the heck of it, and then , with no great expectations and the most serious reservations, begrudgingly load Reader 8.1.1 to see if Adobe has gotten any closer to solving earlier problems. And even then, that won't happen before I'm certain my latest system clone is fully operational.
