It appears that version 3.0 is a Leopard only version, which is hard to tell from the list of changes.

To get your old version back, visit the Objectpark Software and select the version appropriate to your OS version. At the center of the page is a box which reads:

for Mac OS X version
10.5 – 10.4 – 10.3 – 10.2

Got my 2.7.5 back that way.

Version 3.0 is Leopard ONLY - ACBIV

Even 2.7.5 crashes for me now when I replace v3 with it.
