Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Less than a month

Recommend Product: YES

Using Tiger 10.4.10, the menu bar icon doesn't appear - there's a space for it, and the menu drops down from that space as it's supposed to, but there's no information about how many posts I have unread. I tried changing the foreground/background colours in preferences, to see if that might help. It doesn't.

Also, the Layers submenu doesn't appear.

1.0.7 worked (and is now working) perfectly. Recommended on that basis.

I said "layers," I meant "labels" of course.

Yep, problems with 1.0.8 - gmailstatus

I am looking into this, unfortunately so far I cannot reproduce it on the two 10.4.10 machines I have.

Me too, but stopped in 1.0.7 as well - eric.oxenberg

After updating OS-X, 1.0.7 showed only an X and tooltip showed "could not log into gmail." I tried 1.0.8 but it's disabled too. Guess it's Apple's fault after all. Bummer. We'll have to wait for another update from GMail Status for this, or maybe a Growl update.

Same here. Currently running Mac OS X 10.4.10 on an Intel Core2. GMailStatus 1.0.7 was running fine until I upgraded to 1.0.8. The icon did not show up at the nav bar, although it was there. I couldn't make it work. I installed 1.0.7 again, but now it only showx the "X" where it used to show the number of mails. Deleted the prefs file, but it did not help :( If I choose "Open Inbox" from the drop down menu, it connects to Gmail, which makes me think that user name and pasword are correct. Once this is fixed, nice app that everybody should be using.

Yep, problems with 1.0.8 - Menno Pieters

The "X" is because Google has changed some things. On my wife's account it is still working, but on mine it is not. The same happened with my "Google Notifier Addon" for Firefox, but that one has already been fixed.

Now that Gmail allows checking through IMAP, it might be a better/alternative solution to use this standard protocol.
