I used BitComet for quite a while, and flirted with other torrent clients on occasion. Like a philandering husband, I always went back, until I took Azureus for a spin. I was skeptical of a Java-based app, but it has performed extremely well. Besides the usual features one would expect there are additional screens that display more info than anyone would probably ever want (i.e., a graphical representation of the "swarm"), but you'll use them anyway. It helps to pass the time during slow downloads, and gives you a look "under the hood" of the torrent process.
In addition, there is a large menu of available clips, trailers, music videos and full-length films that can be downloaded through the program's main screen. The items listed there typically download wicked fast. Many PPV channels offer the first episode of a season's show in its entirety for download, for example, Dexter and The L Word. You can purchase or rent others for very reasonable rates, $1.99 - $4.99. The excellent Web-based sci-fi series Sanctuary is found here also.
Check out Azureus. I think you'll be glad you did.
