Omniweb continues to be the best browser for the Mac. It has many features that have yet to be copied by the others. I prefer to not call them features for the "power user" because that might tend to turn away "regular users" which would be unfortunate; the Omni folks have made these features easy to use for everyone. The most obvious cool feature is (and has been for a long time) the thumbnail tabs. But there are many other features that I won't list here that are useful. OK--two; worksets (again, super easy to use) and per-site preferences (easy bla bla bla).
5.6 is better than ever and seems to use less memory than past versions; it certainly has fixed the problem in the past where processor use grows over days; it now properly goes to 0% when not doing anything.
It seems to me that the price has dropped from $30, but maybe my memory is faulty. I've used this program for so long that I forgot what I paid. I would gladly pay more for this browser--there is just no substitute for time saved and ease of use.
The support is also great; I always get a personal reply even when reporting trivial stuff.

Yeah, it used to be either $25 or $30, I can't remember either. I paid for it back then. 5.6 is definitely the best release in a long time.Reply to This
