docbaron and Jason!: So if a person has a problem with an app, in your mind, they shouldn't post here unless they are a technician? So every one that posts in versiontracker are trained technicians? I think it's important that us regular people post here before other people have problems with an unstable client. Isn't that what this forum is all about?

docbaron: Actually i think that pompous pretend techs are much more of an annoyance here, as opposed to an honest "review" of a client that worked great for me till this version.

Maybe you should jump to so many conclusions about what I did or didn't do. So, in regards to your unwarranted attack on my person and abilities:

I do use the Tranny forum and if you read through it before you accused me of not using it, you would have noticed that there are lots of people having crash and other problems...

Usually I would naturally assume that you are a mole from Transmission, but all the guys I've chatted with over there are very nice and helpful... and not superior or arrogant...

So, with that in mind, your insulting condescending "rant" should be considered what it is... just so much white noise.

In 0.90:

I have torrents that sat there over last night stalled and the "Update Tracker" was always greyed-out when I checked it... so it couldn't be updated. I went back to 0.82 this morning and they jump-started to very fast speeds.

On some files where the "Update Tracker" wasn't greyed out... when I used it... the minimal u/l dropped to zero and sat there unchanging.

Generally slow speeds overall.

When the "Recheck Existing Data" is used on a complete file set, sometimes it will report that the files are incomplete... then when I use it again, it will suddenly be complete... and again, incomplete. I get a different file size each time I use it... the file's sizes keep changing back and forth from small to large and back to small again.

i get up to 2Mbyte/sec, my 16Mbit ADSL2+ speed limit with good torrents that have seeders that are able to upload @ those data rates...

them ost important thing is to cap your own upload bandwidth @ 2/3 of the maximum upload bandwidth! if you upload more than that you will very likely choke your DSL/Cable connection since the data overhead is 10-30% of the data. the limit is for the data only, not the tcp/ip overhead!

also you have to check if your port is open, the last option in the transmission preferences. if it is not forwarded correctly the signal will be red and you need to make changes to your router... if your router supports UPnP enable it and transmission is able to tell your router the port# that it needs forwarded via UPnP...

there so much stuff that can go wrong with the bandwidth, it's not fair to blame transmission since i have no problems with it, actually i love transmission for it's awesome performance in terms of speediness of transfers!!!
