Full Screen in Others Aps

Feedback Type:  Commentary

Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Have Not Tried

I have not used WriteRoom. But, if all it primarily does is clear all else for a full screen writing space, other word processing applications already do that. Mellel, for example, does. I think there are some others, too, but their names slip me.

Lame Comment by Someone Who has Never Used WriteRoom - MAC_1984

You have not used it, but you make a lame comment as you have. Wow, Mac users' used to be a lot smarter. You have no clue.

Full Screen in Others Aps - i_gaucho

Why not try WriteRoom and see how it's different before judging? True Mellel has a similar feature, but its implementation is not nearly as customizable as WR.

Full Screen in Other Aps - macmacperson

Hardly a "lame comment." Simply a comment. I posted no review and no rating. Since the description and comments indicate to me that its full screen writing environment seems to be its one trick, such a comment would appear on target. It is not a cheap ap for just doing that. If there is something I'm missing, then I'd like to hear it. It doesn't seem cheap for what it does and there may be some who are unaware they can do something similar in other aps. No, I don't know whether it's similar, but the description appears to say that. Perhaps the description should be rewritten in a non-destracting writing environment.

I really have said nothing negative about the ap and certainly did not rate it. If someone wants to clear up my confusion, please do!

Absolutely Lame - MAC_1984

Your comments are lame because you've never tried WriteRoom. And if you haven't noticed software prices have been increasing. Besides, if you want to get technical I will take Scrivener (yes, Scrivener has the full-screen blackout feature) over Mellel any day, as I am a licensed user of both. WriteRoom is excellent at what it does and will remain in my software collection of must-haves.

Do you recommend to a friend that they should purchase or not purchase a vehicle that you have not driven?

Lame Comment? Hardly. - rpphoto555

I own WriteRoom, and several other apps that have a full screen writing feature. I use WriteRoom exclusively because I like its UI, and its plugin ability to use with multiple applications. It's really brilliant.
