>>>        RIDICULOUS to post here - Andreas..

It is ridiculous to post that kind of thing here. You should keep your eyes on the Bombich forums where you will see that there has been a "fix" for quite a while and that the matter has been resolved in CCC v3.0.1-b1.

>>> RIDICULOUS to post here - develand

How arrogant of you. Someone takes the time to post something without wading through a forum run by the software author first? How shocking!

They post it politely, you are rude. I think perhaps if you run your forum that way, then no wonder issues are posted here instead.

Shut up and go back to your message boards.

Yes, to be discouraged - Andreas..

I will continue to discourage the posting of questions with regard to CCC anywhere but in the CCC forums. In other forums we constantly see totally ridiculous and sometimes *dangerous* (to one's data) suggestions/answers. If you wish to get your advice re any app at VersionTracker that is your choice. To me the integrity of other people's data, which is what a cloning app is all about, is paramount.

BTW, it doesn't take much "wading through a forum" to spot a prominent Sticky called "KNOWN ISSUE: German localization is missing some umlauts", OR to see that the matter had already been resolved in the (then) latest release.

Yes, to be discouraged - dechamp

For several years I've used VersionTracker's comments to get a feel for how well a program works and what issues are present or have been solved. An independent source of information that is quickly available while doing research for a program's suitability is a major plus. VersionTracker provides this and much more.

Since I use the English version I was able to determine that the comments about German characters localization were not a problem for me. What is a problem is that support answers from a developer end up looking like a chewing out session because the comment was posted in a forum that is not under the developers control.

I look at many programs a month. I get information from many sources, and determine how I'm going to support my clients. When I need to get more in-depth support or information I will check out the developer's site and support forums. But when an issue can be mentioned in a easily available wide public forum, I won't hesitate to mention my own experiences on the systems that I use. The developer put this software on this forum so that he could advertise it, knowing that he is risking public comment. Deal with it.
