STAY AWAY FROM THIS SOFTWARE

Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Less than a month

Recommend Product: NO

I have been using BootCamp for a solid year without a single problem. I installed VMWare Fusion today, and my BootCamp partition is now completely useless. Windows dies immediately on startup and says that it can no longer be used with my hardware. This happens in VMWare Fusion, and it happens in a direct BootCamp startup. In desperation, after a few hours I even tried to rescue it all with Parallels. Same problem. Nothing works anymore and the Help offers no troubleshooting tips of any use. So now, I have to reinstall Windows, redownload everything, redo all of my settings, reimport my files and bookmarks. Yes, time to rebuild everything I had done to Windows over an entire year's time. So, thanks VMWare for time and money I will waste trying to get back what I already had.

Using BETA with no Backup? - Wiz

At least now you have been offered a lesson in best practices - BETA software is very risky - always back up anything you don't want to lose.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS SOFTWARE - MikeBentley

Hola friends,

It is known in the blogosphere that you can't use a single Boot Camp partition with both Fusion and Parallels, you have to pick one or the other and go with it. They're both fine products, but there's no established standard or history for dealing with two core (2) virtualization technologies on the same partition.
