Ok, what am I missing here. Here is a free download of a branded version of Perl. Perl is a standard part of Mac OS X.
Why would I want to download a non standard Perl installation?
ActivePerl
ready-to-install Perl distribution for multi-platforms
Version: 5.10.1.1006
Err ... why?

OS X one is 5.8.6 - Ilgaz
I think it has something to do with version numbers and highly optimised perl with lots of features built in. If you install, you notice it is more like Java with lots of modules etc. downloaded on demand.Reply to This
