I drag my 30 GB black video iPod on the window, I get a message "iPod not recognized" (spelled with "s", ugh!)
The iPod icon disappears from the Finder, iPod blinks "Do not remove". iPod icon stays on in iTunes where it has to be ejected by the usual method, then it actually IS ejected (iPod stops blinking "Do not remove")
OSX 10.4.10, iPod bought in 2006.
Cmd-del.

ipod "not recognized" - dr.gonzo.esq
I downloaded Podup, installed it on my new Macbook pro 2.4 Intel core 2 and backed up my 60 Gig ipod.It took a couple of hours or so and seemed to have no problems. Then I
saw the message:
ITunes cannot read the contents of the ipod "Gonzo_s IPO", go to the
summary tab in the ipod preferences and click restore to restore this
ipod to factory settings.
I have closed itunes and restarted the computer but Itunes still no
longer recognises the music on my ipod. Incidently the ipod was
originally formated on my work windows machine.
All the music is there on the ipod, I can play it through my Apple
HIfi speaker. What can I do to enable Itunes on my Mac to read my
Ipod's files?
Thanks for your help.

ipod "not recognized" - masmit
Sorry your iPod wasn't recognised (the 's' is because I'm british) - seems like I need to do some more testing with 10.4.10 - I'm away from home at the moment, so I'll get to this asap. For what it's worth, my 80g video iPod (bought in January this year) seems fine with podUp on my macIntel laptop. Which kind of Mac are you using? (Intel, G4, G5?)
Best wishes,
Mark
