will this utility get me around my firewall at work? its not even in my building-goes thru that router to another building 300 miles away where the shared T-1 is-anybody?

No, sorry, UPnP or NAT-PMP are usually not available on enterprise routers. Also, the whole point of a corporate firewall is that you can't easily (i.e. without the firewall being specifically configured to allow you to) punch holes into it.

Lighthouse is meant to be used for port forwarding on residential routers (i.e. home/small business routers).
