A real bore…

Feedback Type:  Review

Contributed by: Stanislas Wednesday, September 19 2007 @ 04:55 AM PDT

Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: 1-6 months

Camino worked well until now (used it for 3 years)
1.5.1 is a mess :
- cease to load pages properly
- cease to display pagesp properly
- progress bar zaps and freezes
- new window won't open

Only solution : quit and restart.
Hopefully it preserves pages previously opened

Troubleshooting on Camino forum didn't help either : solutions proposed weren't efficient.
Back to 1.5 waiting for developers to… develop…
For now, they don't acknowledge the problem : surprised ?

As a developer who frequents the forum, I can't image what this refers to. We:
- have already found one cause of the symptoms you describe, readily acknowledge it on the forums, and have a fix ready for 1.5.2.
- provide an interim workaround for anyone experiencing that cause.
- actively try to work with any user who is experiencing similar problems that the workaround for the known cause doesn't fix to get debugging information.

Unless by "acknowledge" you actually mean "have found and fixed, without yet having enough information from users who actually experience issues other than the one already isolated", then I would ask you to link to a post in the forums that supports your claim that we refuse to acknowledge your problem.

On the contrary, I've had many fewer problems with 1.5.1 than ever before. There are particular webpages that Camino does not do well with, but I keep Safari around for that purpose. (I also have Firefox and iCab.)
