Hello,
uh yes, that is a question I have asked myself as well for a long time.
Why did Adobe kill this user-friendly web application called ImageReady which
was bundled with the Creative Suite CS1 and the Creative Suite CS2 versions
and which was part of the Adobe Photoshop software package for a VERY
long time.
So now Adobe guys? What are the web designers doing who have created
their AD banners, their GIF animations and sliced Photoshop files in ImageReady?
I guess, they get really stucked in another dead end road as Adobe GoLive users.
I assume that many users who have worked with Adobe GoLive did also use
Adobe ImageReady for producing websites.
I do not work with Fireworks due do its clumsy and poor interface.
Adobe ImageReady has, or should I say had a very user-friendly and intuitive
user interface. It was VERY effective and productive for producing various file
formats for the web.
And what are all these designers doing now who need to update customer
related project files for maintaining and updating the websites on behalf of their
clients?
Maybe it would be a good idea if Adobe's top managers start reading their customer
comments and reviews on their own website:

This is indeed a very frustrating and time consuming situation for many
web developers and designers who have been using this application over
the years. This application helped users to build up and maintain their design
or IT related business.
And now, Adobe once again is jumping into the role of an unfair "referee"
and they let their loyal customers jump over the cliff under the motto.
" It's not my problem. See for yourself how you will get along with your "old"
digital files which you have created by using our software. "
Sometimes I have the impression, these decisions made by Adobe are more
"Apple/Microsoft related" or should I say "OS related" since many of Adobe's
decisions just don't make any sense from a pure software related point of view.
For me personally, Adobe has reached its lowest level of reputation since the
existance of Adobe Inc. They really learned how to play "poker" with their
loyal customers.
My 2c,
graphically & sincerely,
" Can you call this 'business' any longer? "

before you type nonsense and ask weird questions you should check your photoshop handbook. all functions of imageready are now included in photoshop. FINALLY! instead of having to work with 2 different versions of photoshop (nothing else it was), you now have 1 powerhouse of an app.you might want to reconsider you profession though.
