I have tried this one a bunch of times now. What is my problem! Seems I just don't learn. In th past it caused Mail.app to behave erratically and then to crash. Now, Mail app will run for a while, but MailTags forces Apples's buggiest application to launch at the same time — the dreaded iCal, which causes the mail startup process to take what seems like forever. Messing with settings has no effect on this lovely experience. And if you want to have a good laugh, just try using the included MailTags Uninstaller to get rid of this buggy thing. It won't. You are stuck with it no matter how many times you run the Uninstaller and reboot your machine. Nice. Now you have to manually hunt down whatever files this nefarious little bugger installed that are gumming up the works. I'm on a G5 2ghz dual running 10.4.10. Hardly an exotic configuration. Does anyone actually test this thing before distribution?

To be honest instead of writing such a review you should ask author to be able to disable iCal automatic launch. Quite a strange request tho, as 1) iCal isn't at all unstable and 2) it's at least strange that someone would want to use a mail-calendar-tags integration system without ... calendaring. So before writing, try the following steps: 1) reinstall your iCal or try to solve iCal issues on your Mac, 2) contact author, 3) connect brain.

Sounds like you need a new computer or a re-install. I've experienced none of the problems that you are citing. This is a great app and basically, IMHO, your one star refers either to your equipment or your computer experience and not at all to the value of this app which will end up steering people away from a real time saver and life organizer. Shame.Reply to This
