This software may be fine, although I have yet to find a way to get Logic Pro 7 to bounce my 5:1 surround audio into six channel wav files which seem to be the only format that it can convert to mp3s.

EXACTLY! That's ALWAYS been the problem on a Mac - no easy way to encode a multichannel .wav!
