Hello,

a week ago I was working with Adobe Illustrator CS2, Adobe GoLive CS2 and Adobe Photoshop CS2 all day to continue my work on a design project.

At the end of the day I wanted to quit all applications. All applications quitted without problems except Adobe Illustrator CS2. I pressed command-q in Adobe Illustrator. The program seemed to quit, however, the MacOS X Finder (command-tab & Dock) indicated that Adobe Illustrator CS2 was still active.

So, I waited a couple of minutes. But for some reason, Adobe Illustrator CS2 did not quit.

I tried to restart my computer via the Finder, but my computer was no longer responding. Thus, I was forced to press the power button of my PowerMac G5 to evoke a restart.

And then ... well ... a big shock ... my computer was not able to find my boot drive. I only got a grey screen with the "no boot drive symbol". Thus, I have made another test by pressing the power button of my G5 once again. Same result, my PowerMac G5 was not able to find a boot drive.

Since it was already very late and I was just too tired to install a new and clean MacOS X version on my computer, I decided to shut down the computer entirely and leave it as it is until the next morning.

Surprisingly, my PowerMac G5 did find the boot drive once again after I turned on my machine the next day.

Has anyone out there made similar experiences?

I've never had my startup disc get confused, but as far as Adobe apps quitting, I've had this with almost every Adobe app, most notably with ID, PSD, and AI. From what I've seen on the Adobe forums, this is a common behavior.
