Does anyone know if there are licensing issues (Windows program demanding reauthorization) when a Windows virtual machine is created from Windows installed in a Bootcamp partition?
The reason I ask is that I understand my OEM Windows XP Home software can only be installed ONCE, that is on one computer. Will Windows XP Home see the Virtual Machine install as a second machine? I would like to have the option to boot via Bootcamp or VMware Fusion.
I would appreciate experience that anyone has.

You have to activate twice, once under bootcamp and once under the VM. I have the retail version, I don't know if that would work with an OEM version.Friday, October 26 2007 @ 12:37 AM PDT

This will work perfectly fine. You do have to reactivate windows once everything is installed and working, but only once. I setup a MacBook to do this very same thing you are mentioning,Reply to This
