No, the update is so people who do not have the new iMac can use the new keyboard on their old Mac. Read the description.

You are an idiot. Read the description. Just looking for something to complain about, are you?

I did not call anyone an idiot. I simply pointed out that in the description, it tells you that it is for all Macs by saying the download is for PPC as well as Intel Macs. Also, if you purchase the new keyboard- it says that you need the keyboard software update to use it.

"Operating System Requirements:
This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:
Mac OS X 10.4 PPC
Mac OS X 10.4 Intel
Mac OS X 10.5 PPC
Mac OS X 10.5 Intel"

photomacuser: I think Brass Hammer was directing that at GennX30, not you, as Hammer seemed to be agreeing with you, that the description explains exactly what this update is for. Unfortunately, VT doesn't thread the comments very well.

Why or why do maroons like you feel the need to comment.
Take your foot out of your fat mouth and think before you post.
Products - hardware and software reach a certain state before shipping.
Quite often, this could mean a product has been "finished" for weeks or months before it gets into consumers hands.
A good company like Apple, still finds problems and fixes them.

BIG FAT KUDOS to Apple for wanting new owners to have a good experience by updating as soon as folks get them.
My son's iMac is working flawlessly - no doubt in part due to these updates.

So...clam up if you have nothing of value to add.
