I've been using this program to connect into my home network behind a firewall via an ssh forward for years now, since it was OSXvnc. (By the way, as a "power user", I've found the use of google to explain things is very helpful, you might try that next time you run into a sentence like "Vine Server, previously released as OSXvnc, is a free, open-source VNC server " with terminology like VNC server if you don't understand it. :))
However, upon visiting the developers site to download the new version (my preferred way of getting things although it is handy to have Version tracker tell me when new releases are out there), teh developers site is still sending out the 2.1 dmg, not 2.2. ??
Vine Server
VNC server & viewer
Version: 3.1
Excellent program, but no sign of 2.2 on developers site? - Rorqual
Actually if you go directly to the developer site ( http://sourceforge.net/projects/osxvnc/ ), you'll notice version 2.2 there. The Version Tracker links need an update. Also on redstonesoftware.com's site, the download link still directs to version 2.1; update needed too! What I couldn't find is what's new or fixed in this release...
