Forums are full of newbies' woes at trying to find software for PAL/NTSC conversion. I had great hopes for this, advertised as "one-click conversion". Working on the vobs in a Video_TS file, it first took 30secs of the first vob and then stopped, congratulating itself with a Finished and exclamation mark. Whether it had actually been converted to NTSC I don't know. I then used its combine vobs feature, and when trying to convert this unified file, it spat out a zero AC3 audio file, the Terminal whirled, it finished after a few minutes, but no file created or able to be saved. I contacted them and was told to use Yadex to combine the vobs and try again!! Its own combine vob function doesn't work as preparation for conversion?!?! And if this vob combining is necessary prior to PAL/NTSC conversion, why isn't this automated as part of the "one click" total conversion. Just how much pre-preparation is required before the "one click' conversion I was promised?
I gave up.

One click conversion PAL/NTSC- far from it. - SERBIAN--2008

Please note that DVD PAL <-> NTSC conversion is not an easy process as you might think since it involves lot of various things, not just the simple format reconversion...In order to make proper input VOB for reconversion process you have to rip your DVD in one single VOB file like is explained in tutorial for that type of conversion on MPEG2 Works support forum...Since you tried to use VIDEO_TS folder and recombined VOB's from that folder, process wont work simply beacuse you didnt have proper input...

Please note that I made a brand new major update of MPEG2 Works 4 which will take VIDEO_TS folder as input and whole process will work with a "single click" as you would like...The new version will be released soon...

I forgot to mention that I dont advertise PAL <-> NTSC conversion as "one-click conversion"...That is the name of one other section in my app....

Video is a very complex discipline, and if you think there is a magic button to cure all your problems based on a lack of understanding of the parameters involved, then think again. Those you accuse of crying woes in the forums are at least asking questionns to overcome their learning curve.

I have been using M2W for quite some time and have a deep resect for the author and his product and his support efforts. He is a class act that is being copied by the other developers trying to turn out copycat applications.

I saw where you asked questions in the forum, got a perfectly good answer, and then chose to ignore it. Then have the gall to blast him here because you didn't understand the perfectly good response and didn't have the patience or humility to pursue your problem further to a full understanding.

If you are going to bash someone, save it for one of the developers who deserves it. It's certainly not deserved here. Go get some video lessons instead.

I'm not quite sure what terryxpress' problem was....whenever there is a n issue with this app and ones' ability to use 'as advertised' the developer literally bends over backwards to walk you through it....'one click' is not like a toaster....you have to have some concept of the limits of video conversion...I have found the developers advice to be right on whenver i've had a problem....maybe your expecting some kind of magic?
